On June 15, 2025, the sound of drums echoed through Port Moresby, with dragons and lions dancing and dazzling face-changing performances winning thunderous applause. The Sir Hubert Murray Stadium, a landmark venue in the capital city of Papua New Guinea, was packed with people and filled with excitement.
Chairman Lin Huanong stated that the “China Day” event was not just a cultural showcase, but a true embodiment of people-to-people connectivity. He expressed gratitude for the support and promotion from the National Capital District government, as well as the active participation of the Chinese Embassy in PNG and the local Chinese community. As the organizer of the event, he emphasized that the China-PNG Friendship Association has always been committed to promoting people-to-people exchanges, cultural interaction, and mutual understanding between China and Papua New Guinea.
“We have brought not only Chinese cuisine, intangible cultural heritage, and spectacular performances,” he said, “but also the sincere friendship of the Chinese people toward the people of PNG.” Chairman Lin stressed that in the future, the association will continue to build bridges for friendly exchanges between the two peoples, helping more local residents get to know, understand, and fall in love with Chinese culture, and contributing the strength of the overseas Chinese community to the development of bilateral relations.
