On May 19, during the ongoing launch event for the Huawei nova 14 series and new Harmony-powered computers, Huawei introduced its flagship foldable laptop, the MateBook Fold Extraordinary Master Edition, which comes equipped with the HarmonyOS 5 operating system.
The system emphasizes a “unified system and ecosystem,” supporting a distributed soft bus for full-scenario interconnectivity, achieving ultra-high speeds of 160MB/s and more than four times the concurrency.
In terms of everyday use, the device enables features such as “watching videos on the upper screen while browsing comments on the lower screen,” and “casting content on the upper screen while referencing materials on the lower screen.” It also supports a variety of intuitive gestures, including “three-finger swipe to transfer windows, five-finger spread for waterfall-style browsing, and eight-finger tap to summon the virtual keyboard,” among others.
