On April 11, 2025, the Lae Chapter of the China–Papua New Guinea Friendship Association, also known as the PNG Chinese Assistance Center, donated a batch of essential daily and medical-related supplies to Lae International Hospital, providing tangible support for the hospital’s operations and the well-being of its staff.
The donation was led by Mr. He Ye, President of the Lae Chapter, with a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere at the handover ceremony. Association members Lin Duanhan, Wang Yuchun, Wang Jianqing, and Lin Zengjian were present to express the Chinese community’s sincere care and support for the local public healthcare system.
The management team of Lae International Hospital attended the event in person to receive the supplies and spoke highly of the long-term assistance and active contributions made by Chinese organizations to Papua New Guinea. Members of the 14th Chinese Medical Team to PNG were also present, bearing witness to this touching moment of China–PNG friendship.
The donated items included rice, flour, bottled water, and instant food — all daily necessities aimed at easing the hospital’s logistical burden and improving the working and living conditions of frontline medical staff.
In his speech, President He Ye stated: “We are committed to continuing our role as a bridge between communities, serving the local society with dedication, and allowing the friendship of the Chinese people to take root and flourish in Papua New Guinea.”
This event fully demonstrated the sense of responsibility and commitment of Chinese overseas community organizations, as well as the profound spirit of mutual support and solidarity in times of need.
